Application :

Identifying Wheel Type based on OCR. Marking & grading of Bar code. To codify the wheels for future track & tracking purpose.

Solution consists of :

1. Camera
2. Laser Marking machine
3. PLC, SCADA software & Computer based data logging system
4. 3 Axis's (X-Y-Z) Gantry system
5. Data transfer to sap system & reporting.

Criticality :

main constraint, tact time was less. Number of operations to be performed were more.
1. There were 10 variants. System has to first identify the type of wheel.
2. Than doing OCR (these character where coming anywhere in FOV).
3. based on ocr , system will mark the data matrix code on the wheel (data matrix code information will be collected from sap system)
4. camera will identify the place to mark data matric code & send the x, y coordinates to plc system.
5. Plc will than alien the x,y,z gantry system at specific location on which laser marking head is mounted.
6. Than it will mark the data matric code on specific location
7. than grading of the data matrix code.
8.Storing all this information & sharing the same again to sap system.
